I'm looking at getting an ideal cut round diamond 1.25 to 1.75 carats, H/I color, and VS1/VS2. Ideally with the setting i'd like to be all at $15k. I came across this diamond on whiteflash and was wondering what people's thoughts were. Based on what i have read and seen, it looks like a good pick. However, even though it is certified eye clean i'm hesitant given the markings on the lab report. Everyone says that they won't be visible, but i was hoping for some more opinions or suggested diamonds.

Also what should i expect pricewise for the setting. I am thinking the VC Emilya which looks beautiful, but I am wondering how much they cost if i don't buy the diamond from him. I hesitate to submit a request until i have a diamond picked out since I share a computer with my girlfriend sometimes or leave my phone sitting around.

Or potentially doing a custom ring with these two ritani's. The actual ring and halo around the diamond would be like the first one, but the way the diamond actually sits on the ring would look more like the second.

Thanks for the help!

It will depend on gold- and diamond prices, ring size and the diameter of the diamond, but I guess it will cost you 4-5k for a round Emilya.

VC came back and said $4,400 in platinum for a size 6. I had no idea on the size so i guessed. Maybe that would come down a little bit since she is probably smaller than a 6. Looks like it might be more than i want to spend given the carat size I am looking at.

Any thoughts on combining the styles of the Ritani? I'm assuming it will be right around $4,000 after the customization. Think that's about right?

Victor is going to run 5k for the setting. Regardless of whether or not you buy the stone from him.

An I VS2 1.5 carat is going to run you 12.5-14k in a hearts and arrows stone:
http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3164214.htm?source=pricescope VERY NICE (and WF is a RITANI DEALER and WF also does GORGEOUS custom halos in house, which is what I'd do if the Victor option didn't work out).

You can get a nice non-hearts and arrow for less:
http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.61-carat-i-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-282814 You ask for an idealscope for this one.

THIS ONE WOULD LET YOU GET THE VICTOR SETTING with an additional budget boost of 1k, WHICH IS WHAT I WOULD DO if you can comfortably afford it.

Here's another budget friendly halo option: http://www.jamesallen.com/wedding-rings/classic/platinum-pave-set-engagement-ring-round-center-item-18459

Wow... I was quoted over $5K more than 2 years ago for the same setting in a size 5.25... Weird.

Msop04 do you think it's because your stone is larger?

Or because of differences in gold and diamond prices?
