I have been looking for a diamond online but all of the information is overloading my brain. I am looking for a diamond that around 1 carat F or higher in color, Excellent or Ideal Cut, VS2 or higher. I would prefer no florescence. I found this diamond below that I believe meets all of my needs. It has an HCA score of 1.3. I am wanting to stay around $7,500 for just the diamond. I know that I can get 3 ideal scope images but I don't want to waste them on a diamond that is not going to preform. What do you think about this diamond? Is there a better diamond in my price range?

That's a really pretty stone, but it is a little deep. I'd try for 62 or less or at the max, 62.3. Let me see if I see any with less depth and better diameter.

Ok that's what I was looking for. I can look at numbers all day long but without knowledge from the experts I am not sure what will look great.

I am not having a lot of luck coming up with three once I set the search criteria.

Here is an example of one with potential, but it has very good for polish and symmetry and medium fluorescence. It is at budget and is 6.5mm due to having less depth. You might could consider this as one of your three. Many of us love fluorescence and prefer it.

Are you only looking at JA or are you open to other vendors?

The diamond you chose looks quite beautiful to me. It has a very small table which I think looks pretty. However, slightly larger tables might result in more brightness. Most people look for 54-58. But I'd still get the idealscope image on it out of curiosity.

Here are the numbers I use to search. These are not the only options, but they usually will land you in or close to ideal cut territory. Then you need idealscope images to further screen the stones.

table: 54-58

depth: 60-62.3

crown angle: 34-35.0

pavilion angle: 40.6-41.0

That was the information I was looking for. Thank you for all of your help.

What do you think about going with a G in color vs an F?

G is the sweet spot for many on here. (no pun intended) Not much of a difference. And to the naked eye with the diamond face up you won't even be able to tell. I think G would make more sense from a financial stand point.

Would love to own a G but if I can afford an F ... :wink2: I don't mind owning F-H depending on my budget.

Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for on the Ideal Scope and ASET images? I can look at them all day but am not sure what exactly to look for.

This one looks like it is maybe slightly tilted in the still photo and that may be what is making it look not completely symmetrical. Ask about that. Otherwise the numbers look ok.

The second one has good numbers and may be okay as well. Hard to be 100% sure without more images.

Will look quick and see if I see any I prefer. I think G VS2 is a great choice.

Didn't see any that struck me as strongly better than these.

That diamond looks pretty good and has good specs.
