Rookie here, looking for an opinion on a stone. I know she wants a RB and found one with the following characteristics that appears good to me.
Mounting will most likely be 18K white gold with pave or some type of side stuff.
RB Characteristics:
Information from GIA Report Check
Carat Weight: 0.99
Color: I
Clarity Grade: VS2
Cut Grade: Excellent
Measurements: 6.40 * 6.46 * 3.99 mm
Depth: 62.1 %
Table: 53 %
Crown Angle: 34.5°
Pavilion Angle: 40.8°
Polish: Excellent
Culet: None
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescene: None
Girdle: thin to slightly thick, faceted
There are 2 small crystal inclustions, one around the girdle that I think can be disguised by a prong. These are dark dots (carbon?) that can be seen by a loupe but I can''t see them via the naked eye.
HCA test scored the proportions as 1.4 Excellent.
Questions:
1. Is this stone that has good measureables? I know that the table is on the small side, but from what I''ve seen this is still within Tolkowsky proportions.
2. What ballpark would a fair price be via an internet vendor? Vendor is trustable type but has not seen the stone firsthand.
3. Would it be worth it to choose a smaller (about 92 pts) ACA H&A type diamond if it was a similar price?
4. Are there any other factors I should consider or be worried about?
Thanks
