I ran across this stone and wondered what everyone thought regarding the quality of it. I''m not familiar with the ideal proportions of a Cushion Cut stone and needed some input. How about the depth and table %''s? Does the price sound fair for this stone?

Carat Color Clarity Depth Tbl Lab Gdl Cul Sym Pol Flr Measurements Price
1.41 H VVS1 71.2% 58% GIA - no gd gd no 6.61-6.05-4.31 $6603

Thanks a ton!

Hi. I am curious to see the responses for this question. I have a 1.46ct cushion and it measures 6.87x6.23x3.94mm. My cushion isn''t as deep. I think it''s 63% ( I will double check) and my table is also 58% I keep thinking that my cushion looks kind of small for almost 1.5 cts. Mine looks bigger to me from the side rather than looking down on it. The price sounds fair but I am no expert! You have come to the right place for answers though.

. Are you seriously considering buying this stone?

Christine, Thanks for the reply. I am considering this stone, but I guess I won''t know until I hear some feedback from the experts. It just sounds like a fair price and would look great in a e-ring!

seems really deep to me, did you run it through the cut advisor?

Okay I tried to run it throught the cut advisor even without the crown and girdle numbers...a little box popped up and said that the total depth was too deep. I would say keep looking. JMO

I tried the same. I don''t have any additional information so I can''t enter it. Oh well, my search continues!

the cut advisor only works for rounds, not cushions

that''s why you got the little error.

also, this cushion is on the deep side, which means it will face up smaller. but that doesn''t mean it isn''t beautiful. many deep cushions are pretty, but if it was me, i want to be able to see the weight that i am paying for!

jft1215- btw, did you decide not to go with a pink center stone?

Thanks for the good input Ice! I would want to see it as well, plus not have the stone sit high off the finger. Too much chance of banging it.

I haven''t necessarily abandoned the pink center stone, just weighing all of my options. Since I''ve had trouble finding the pink stone and I have the time I am exploring all of my options. Don''t get me wrong, I still love the look of a sapphire/spinel surrounded by diamonds and platinum!

Might be beautiful! Might not! You have to see it. But one thing for sure, it will look very very small for its carat weight!

Unless you love love love it, I'd keep looking. And if you're on the fence, consider maybe going down to a clarity level you feel good with (even vs1 will be SPOTLESS) and going up in color. The fancy H is slightly warm imo and I'd rather spend the $ on color than clarity. Just my 2 cents .

MoreMoreMore! Now that''s what I need to know! Thank you! I need to know what variables of a cushion cut outweigh others to maximize my $$. So to make sure I understand what you just said.....

When you say warm you mean more color? So based on what you''re opinion is color outweighs clarity on fancy (cushion included) shapes?
