Hello everyone! I hope I chose the right forum for this topic, not sure if I should post this on Rocky Talk, but any who...

Well, we went to the jeweler again today and I've narrowed my choices to two rings!

I originally was die hard set on emerald cuts, but I saw these two rings, and it was love at first sight all over again.

So for the first ring choice, it is a 1ct princess, with .50 of pave and the band is .50 as well. I love, love, love this ring!

For my second choice, it is a 1.53 fancy yellow radiant with two baguettes on each side and double rows of round diamonds. The profile also has neat pave around it. Not sure what it is called, but the ring is just breath taking and I wanted to cry when I put it on. My only concern is that the yellow will wear out on me. So my question to anyone out there with a colored stone or fancy diamond ring is does the stone bother you? Do you wish you had chosen a "white" or close to diamond? Thank you all for your opinions & apologies in advance for my dry winter hands!

Hi Thomperchik,

I think that if you like the yellow color go for it--it's daring and different--(you can always wear a white diamond RHR to get the best of both worlds). If you are the type of person that likes change, you can get bored with either choice (so changing e-rings with upgrages or frequently changing RHR is a good solution).

One last thing: I tend to prefer the broader flashes and chunkier facets of radiant shapes as opposed to the more angular smaller sparkles of a princess cut (this is just a thought: but, you might be prefering the shape of the yellow one... If so, maybe you can try a white radiant and compare it to the princess if you think you'd prefer a white diamond).

good luck and enjoy!

The two are gorgeous. My fav is the yellow diamond.

If it was me, I would ask to the jeweler to lower the center diamond. They are sit too high for my taste actually.

They're both beautiful, but out of the 2, I love the yellow diamond ring better, both the stone and the setting. I have a yellow diamond ring that I wear as a right hand ring, simply because I got it after my new wedding set. I only wear it on my right hand because it's too big for my left, but I can honestly say that if it were my e-ring, I would never get tired of the yellow color.

They are both very lovely rings but the yellow one really pops for me. I think you'd be very happy with a lovely and unique ring.

I do like the yellow ring better and would love to have one! But I am not sure I'd want it to be my only e-ring. I am just not a fan of princess cuts, so that is why I would eliminate that one.

What about a combination? A white princess set into a version of the setting that holds the FY? Would that be possible?

I love the yellow one AND the center diamond is much bigger! To me it is a win-win! Are they both the same price?

I like the yellow one better! Beautiful!

I like them both but would choose the yellow based on it's bigger size (if the price is the same).

I'm also interested in hearing feedback from those who have a fancy color diamond as their ering and if they have any regrets on not going with a white diamond.

I would choose the white princess for my e-ring: more classic, never out of fashion, the whole set looks beautiful on your finger.
In my opinion, the yellow radiant looks best if you plan to wear it alone as a right hand ring: many women choose to wear the wedding band (or a bunch of stacking bands) on the left finger and the e-ring on the right finger.

I would choose the yellow. I like the stone better than the smaller white one. I like the setting better, the proportions better,
and the height of the setting better. It's beautiful and unique. You can find plenty of white diamonds, but a really nice
yellow is a bit harder. You won't see a lot of people with a ring like the yellow. The color is killer.

Go for the yellow!!!

Oh I love the yellow ring but then I am biased. :D I've had my yellow for three years now and I still love it as much today as I did the day I got it. I have never wished it was a white stone. I think it being a colored stone is why I love it so much. I like that it is not the norm and I get a lot of questions as to what it is. Apparently not a lot of people where I live have seen a yellow diamond before.

The yellow diamond is killer!!!! wow! If you cried when you tried it on why is it not the one? Because you might grow tired of the yellow? Really? It would get tons of compliments for sure!

The yellow is beautiful!

That would definitely be my first choice-but I am also a bit biased!!! I have worn a yellow diamond for 6 years and have not gotten tired of it yet :))

I lik the yellow stone...could you have it put in a setting like the other ring?

tyty333...that is exactly what I was thinking. Love the yellow stone, but prefer the setting for the white. :wavey:

I'm back, b/c this has been on my mind. I said I'd chose the yellow diamond, but I'm thinking that personally I'd prefer that as a RHR. I love the simplicity of the other set and you can add/subtract color with stacking bands (of which I have about a dozens, so I do love the variety).

I am with Catmom on this one... I have been wearing my yellow sapphire ering for over 4 years now and I have never wished I had gotten a white stone.
Out of the two rings you posted I like the yellow diamond ring much better, but I am also biased :))
