I've been lurking for a while reading up, and now am posting for the first time.
I am in the market for a diamond and have narrowed it down to two.
I don't have any of the images for these two, and I don't think I can get them, just wanted opinions based on stats.
Price is near identical ($20 difference) so that is not a factor.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi

Both the diamonds you have mentioned are so very similar, the color/clarity/polish/Cut/Symmetry are same, if I have the
option I would see the stone side by side and than take the call, but by looking at both the stone's characteristics, I
would choose #1 because girdle is Medium to Slightly thick which is better than thin to slightly thick.

It's really impossible to say how the diamond is going to perform without seeing images, but based on the numbers alone both look like they have potential. I prefer a taller crown and tiny table so I guess, I'd lean toward the second stone, the TN-SL TK girdle is fine. Truly though you probably wouldn't notice a real visual difference between the two IRL.

Have you considered dropping from a D to an F or G? Both would still be extremely white and it would be very difficult for a viewer to see the slight color differences in a set stone. Many of us here consider G VS to be the best value and balance...very white and very clean for a much lower price tag. It also allows you to increase the weight of the stone.

Are you buying this diamond for yourself or for someone else?

I considered it, but I decided to go with a D, I guess I am colour sensitive. I've seen alot said about GHI on here.
This is for an E-Ring for my gf.
Shockingly enough she thought even .75 was too big for her. She prefered .5 but I'm pushing the boundaries a bit by going as close to .65 as possible. I figured since she doesn't want bigger, I could put the extra money into the colour.

Thanks for the thoughts so far.

What about putting that extra money into a nice shiny wedding ring/setting?

Based on the crown & pavilion angles - and my preference for table size between 56-58 - I'd go for #1 - but like others have said, these two stones are very close on specs and at this carat weight, any visible differences between the two will be subtle.

I'd personally go with #2 because I love that small table. However, we'd need an idealscope image on both to tell you which one to go with.

What can I say, she likes simple. She wants a small band and no extra diamonds. Good for my pocket. :)
As for the wedding ring, thats more than 8 months away, I'll be able to carry that later. If I had to guess based on our discussions, its gonna be pretty simple as well.

Interesting that some people Like the smaller table vs. some people like the lower crown angle. All personal preference I guess.
