LOL!

Seriously, others may say something different, but ALL of those diamonds are absolutely awesome - you really can''t get better than the ACA H&As.

I really don''t think you could choose between them in terms of light performance. With the HCA, anything under 2 is fantastic and worth considering... there''s no single HCA score under 2 that is ''best''. You can''t really use the HCA to choose a diamond, only to eliminate diamonds which won''t perfom as well.

I''m sorry if this seems unhelpful, but you really have got a selection there of the very best of the best diamonds! From there it really boils down to which stone fits best within your budget.

If the 0.73ct is out of your budget (and that''s ok, because we all have to draw a line somewhere!) I would probably choose this one:

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-636693.htm .648 G SI1 The HAC is a 1.6 $ 1832

I think that strikes a lovely balance between colour, clarity and weight, and is nicely in your budget. :)

Since all those stones are terrific performers, if I were your girl, I would pick the largest. If the largest exceeds your budget, I would pick the second largest. You seem to prefer great performers which is really smart, but size counts too. Good luck!

Thank you Cleo, shows how much I know about diamonds. I have been basing sparkle off the HAC. Oh well, It has got me this far so thats a plus I guess. Thanks for clearing that up for me it is appreciated. Hope to hear from others soon. I think I am giving WF a call since the lady there says it might be a little more helpful then emails.. Very excited!

You might also take a look at Excel Diamonds. They have a sweet Superbcert .73ct I SI1 for a few hundred less than the budget-buster. They also carry a setting pretty much identical to the one you''re looking for.

Niki, I really like the diamond, however I dunno how much the I color would hurt its performance or show any yellow? Also, What I would make up in the diamond being cheaper I lose in the setting being more so it equals itself out. I know I need to give this diamond more thought, and I also saw they have a .7 I SI as well and on the GemEX live report its off the chart on color light "fire" and high to very high on sparkle and brilliance. That was my first time on Excel''s site nice find and thank you for taking time to mention this diamond/site.

I am in the process of buying through WF as well. I apologize if someone has answered this, but there was a question earlier in this thread regarding the discount available through WF. When you call, if you ask for a PS discount, they will just tell you the "discount" PS shows on its search page is simply the bank wire price. In other words, instead of WF having to pay the credit card merchant''s fees, they pass those few points to you so they can pull the funds directly from your bank. It''s a great idea. If any Pricescope folks are monitoring this, I wish the asterisk on the search page would indicate that this is not a "special" discount, as it is available to the rest of the world as well...not just PS members. Just my opinion.

Best of luck to you.

If an H is a possibility, I wouldn''t rule out an I. You could always give Barry at Excel a call and ask how white it faces up or ask for more photos. Just wanted to throw a few more options out there for ya. :) I got my diamond (one of their Supertbcerts) and setting from Excel, and it was a very positive experience. You really can''t go wrong with either vendor.

If you want a WF setting, you need to get the stone from there, too. Plus you have more protection buying from a PriceScope vendor who depends on positive reviews from this site. :-)

All ACA''s are top quality stones, so I would also probably go with the largest one as long as it is totally eye clean. If I went with SI1, I''d want the very cleanest one. I''ll take one more look at them!

I just spoke with Lesley from WF on the phone. She said in an email earlier that the SI1''s were all eye clean. I have 2 final questions that hopefully someone will let me know.

1- What am I to do about an appraisal? Does WF do that or do I need to take it elsewhere for when I get it insuired?

2- No tax on the ring? Is this something you have to claim on taxes at the end of the year? (I know what some might be saying since i said I am an accounting major (haven''t had my tax classes yet)

Thank you all so much I am very close to sealing the deal. :)

Hello Adam and welcome!

The diamonds you have chosen all seem lovely - although I haven''t yet inspected each page individually.

My first observation was that you have gone reaaaaally high in the clarity, opting for VVS2. Please excuse me if you have already considered this, but I though it was worth pointing out that if you wanted to, it would be worth considering dropping down in clarity and perhaps getting a bigger stone for your budget.

Most people on PS opt for SI1 clarity, having first asked the vendor to check that the stone they are interested in is eye clean.

Don''t be put off by the plots of inclusions on the grading reports, or by the highly magnified photos. An eye clean SI1 looks every bit as awesome as a VVS2 - guaranteed. :)

Your colour range is also varying from E to G, which is another area in which you can save money (you will pay a LOT more for an E color stone that a G).

For example, I found this diamond, which is H colour, SI1 in the ACA H&A section of WF - it is almost three quarters of a carat (0.73cts) and is $2760 (although as a PS member you will get a discount off this price... 5% I believe).

Have a look, and see how you feel about it. :)

We''ll help you get the biggest AWWWW factor we can. :)

Although there are a lot of SI stones on this forum, I don''t think it''s "most"...I definitely prefer VS or VVS clarity...and I''m sure therea re others who do too!

Yes, they will give you an appraisal. However, I suggest that you insure for the purchase price so as not to pay premiums for an inflated value. You don''t need another appraisal because the stone has been graded by an independent lab already.

With an out of state purchase, they will not charge you sales tax nor will they be reporting it to your state. So you would have to know your state''s treatment about out of state purchases and determine how or if you would pay the tax.

Looks like Diamondseeker and I are both liking the same stones for you!

vs-lover - I think you will find that elle has already picked me up on this, and that I actually corrected my bad phrasing from ''most'' to ''many'' in a separate post in this thread. :)

I think she''ll love it!!!!

You might want to ask WF about the insurance agent that they list on their site...Touchstone, I think. If they can''t help you, then you might try Jeweler''s Mutual.

Please come back and show us pictures!

YAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

It''s a beautiful diamond and you are both going to LOVE it!

We would love to see some photos of your finished ring, and of course some hand shots when you propose. :)

Actually, there are two different discount structures, 1st Timer.

One is a bank wire discount, and this discount is available to anyone who pays by bankwire.

The other is the Pricescope discount, which is a slightly steeper discount than the regular bankwire discount. In order to qualify for this discount, your transaction must be a bank wire transaction AND you must identify yourself as a participant at Pricescope.

I hope this is helpful.

Most states with sales tax have a use tax (same rate as their sales tax), so you are required to report the purchase and pay the tax yourself as the buyer or "user" of said item. Same with most internet purchases that are shipped to your home from an out-of-state vendor - the seller is not required to collect the tax for your home state but you the buyer are still required to pay it, even if many people choose not to. There is a thread somewhere on this issue if you search for sales tax or internet tax or some such.

Could you tell me the discount for being a pricescope participant and if I bank wired? I did this and I thought the lady told me it was 5% as long as I bank wired and I mentioned I was a PS memeber. What I gathered was as long as I bankwire its a 5% discount and nothing more for being a PS member. The only other discount was a 3% if I payed buy debit or credit card. Very curious

As for the ring as soon as I get pics from WF I will post them.

I read where you said they would give me an appraisal, however I just received my ring today and no appraisal. I did get a piece of paper from someone other then WF who is a gemologist, he priced the diamond confirmed the diamond and the ring along with a price on each (both were higher then what I paid) The thing is at the bottom of the paper it said that it was not an appraisal. What should I be doing about an apprasial now since I take it WF doesn''t give that to you?

I will be posting pics soon (I love this ring its AMAZING) Thanks for everyones help.
