I recently posted some questions about diamonds and diamond quality. I want to thank the lovely people who answered my questions.

I now have another question

After looking at having my ring designed and nearly dying at the total cost ($17000 for an H SI1 1.15 solitaire diamond ring), we went looking at some jewellery shops instead. I found this lovely ring that caught my attention:-

Trilogy ring

Total diamond weight:-1.75 carats
Centre stone:- 1 carat H SI2
Two sides stones:- I1 K colour on each side
GIA certificate
Cost:- $7500

Is this okay? I know that the diamonds on the sides are not the best quality, but I looked at the ring and could not see any major imperfections ( as odd as that sounds).

Thanks in advance!

PS. By the way it''s Australian dollars

Hi

What shape of stone is it and do you have the numbers off the GIA certificate like crown, pavilion, cutlet (if there is one) depth and table. You can use this tool if it is a round http://www.pricescope.com/cutadviser.asp

Hi, make sure that you take it into multiple lighting sources to evaluate it (such as indoors, outdoors in direct sunlight, and outdoors in indirect sunlight) - sometimes you can get a great I1 stone, but often those I1 ''boogers'' jump out at you in direct light.

Ditto Skip and :), also check that you can''t see a difference in colour between the centre H and K sides, so see if you can check it out away from the store lights.
