Can a branded, super ideal MRB "shine" as much in a halo vs. solitaire? Has anyone had or seen both in person?
And halo being a dainty, well executed halo.

A well cut diamond's performance will not be hampered by the setting. Feel free to set it however you like. :))

This! Whatever your preference is, I know my wife is a die hard halo fanatic-- so it would have to be a pretty special solitaire to deter her.

An ideal MRB is designed to get all the light it needs from the table. So you should be able to bezel it or set it how you want.

Ok, great to know...thanks all!!

I'm replacing my GIA 'very good' cut diamond with an ACA or BGD signature and I'm torn on going back to original solitaire (with maybe delicate halo underneath) or the delicate halo style like I just had with my reset in 2013 (VC Emilya). Such difficult decisions:)
Going from 1.5 to 1.9-2 ct and don't think VC Emilya is in the budget as well right now.
