I'm looking to purchase a heart shaped stone and was looking for everyone's opinion on the following. I've uploaded what appears to be a calculated ASET image. When it comes to heart cut I'm not sure if there are sample images out there that show what a good cut is supposed to look like. Also, can I trust this generated image?

It is selling for $5373. I've run the stats through the AGA cut analysis tool and it comes up an A1. Just wondering if there are better ones out there as the ASET image doesn't look that great to me.

I am not an expert, but it looks quite good to me. Its showing a bit of leakage under part of the table and a large area of contrast or obstruction, but I'm not sure if that is specific to the shape. The proportions look good. Hopefully someone else will chime in and be in a better position to give you feedback. :))

I was just taking another look and there isn't a cleft in this heart, is that ok with you? At first glance, I saw a heart, but when I went back and took a longer look, it looked more like a squat pear to me. I'm sure it had to do with weight retention from the cutter, but I wanted to mention to you. Again, I know very little about heart cuts.

GIA does not grade the cut of Heart shape, so who graded the cut very good?

Was the diamond graded by GIA, or was a Graduate Gemologist trained at GIA providing these grades?
Big difference.

The cut grade is what was listed on the website. I'm looking at the cert right now and you are correct that it doesn't have a cut grade. I also have a picture of the diamond and it is cut as a heart, not sure why the ASET image shows up the way it does.

Still wondering if anyone can comment on the light performance vs price and whether or not I could find a better deal out there.

you can, i just posted a 2 ct heart diamond SET in a setting for roughly the same price

i'm confused as to your question?

The link Mico posted is to a diamond that is about 41% deep. That seems really, really shallow. Lots of spread for the weight, but ...

Post the photo of the stone?

Are you seeing a significant discrepancy between actual shape and outline in the scan?
I know scanner accuracy drops w/ certain combinations/configurations/outlines, I don't know enough to detail anything though - the pros could tell you more.
