I recently looked at this diamond for my girlfriend''s engagement ring. After using the HCA, I''m not sure that it''s such a good find. Your advice would be greatly appreciated!

1.5 ct. GIA G VS2
Polish: VG
Symmetry: VG
Fluorescence: none
Table: 59%
Depth: 61.2%
Crown angle: 35.5
Pavilion angle: 41.2
HCA: 4.8 (not good)
Price: over $14,000

you can do better for less.. keep shopping.

What is your budget for the stone?

Personally I would pass on this diamond, the cut and therefore performance can be improved on for sure.

What everyone else has said.

The diamond is cut slightly too deep. You could get better value for money from a better cut stone. Not only will it have better spread but also better sparkle :)

Have a look at the WF ACA''s someone else has posted but you can definitely do elsewhere.

Thank you for your help and advice. We''re going to pass on the stone. Our perfect loose diamond would be 1.35-1.5 carats F or G VS2 (or better) for under $11,000 (not including the setting). Of course, we''d like a H&A round brilliant stone. My girlfriend is color and inclusion-sensitive and can pick out inclusions on the table of even a VS1 stone easily. I''m looking for a stone with inclusions closer to the girdle. Please keep me posted if you see anything like this.
