Hello all,

I am considering buying a 3.20 carat G Color, VS2 Asscher center stone (GIA certified) , two 0.475 carat (.95 total carats) side stone Trapezoids (F/G Color, VS1) in platinum band and would like to get the opinions from PS folks. Based on the measurements, my guess is the stone looks small for its carat size. Is there an ideal proportion for Asscher? I have heard about keeping the table and depth % below 65%, is this true? Also is $30K a good price? Thank you very much!

pretty! very nice and square!
is this in addtition to the round you just bought?

Thanks Belle! After buying the round one, I wish I could forget about this ring and move on...Will get it only if it''s a well-cut stone and at a significant deal, since I have read repeatedly that Asscher is less liquid than round brilliant.

cut corners / windmills are a little smaller than ideal, some people like them that way.
otherwise it looks like a nice asscher.
Do a pricescope search on the stones to get the prices.
It sounds resonable to me but I dont have time right now to search.

58-62 table and 65%-69.9% depth is where most of the best cut asschers fall these days.
There are a few that show up from time to time less deep but the rough they are cut from usualy doesnt support it.
id go as far out af 64% on the table but you have to be careful that the crown isnt too flat.
this one looks nice.

Asscher specs look good. For me personally it''s a bit deep... but storm says you can go to 70% depth. The windmills are small, but that''s a style thing... personal preference. Table''s good. Polish and symmetry too. Girdle is even and if it''s eye-clean then over all it''s nice. I''d run a price comparison to see if the price is good. Is that price for the diamond, traps, and setting?

Hi Gypsy, yes the price is for everything. Thank you all for the replies!
