In the idealscope of this stone the arrow lines (especially at 12'oclock) look kind of off. Is it just the picture, does this really matter at all? The stone looks real nice but seems a little pricey for a 1C SI1 H..What does everyone think? WF says its 100% eye-clean. I've bumped up my price range as most of the $5000ish stones I've looked at have visible inclusions from 5-10 inches. I welcome all opinions as I'm ready to pull the trigger on a purchase. Thanks!

if you post the link, we can see the IS and maybe see what you are seeing.

duh sorry, edited post!

Ha gotcha! I see what you mean, the point of the 1200 arrow looks a little bent

I really don't know what to say...maybe someone else might be able to advise you, but I wouldn't have thought it was a prob, especially being an ACA...This diamond's proportions are fantastic though!!! I wonder if it is illusionary and that arrow is due to the lighting set up or some sort of tilt...couldn't say for sure though. Best thing would to be to check with WF if you want to pursue this diamond, but I would think it is fine being an ACA.

This is also a great way for someone else reading this forum to snatch up diamonds you have your eyes on. It happened to me before. With a WF diamond too. I posted on here and before I could actually purchase the stone, someone else grabbed it up.

I personally am very reluctant to give out specifics anymore.

How else are we supposed to help then? I am so sorry that happened to you TT, I can imagine that it was a big disappointment. It seems that this is becoming more and more of a problem, maybe if posters could just post the specs and IS image without identifying the diamond this might prevent it happening...Apart from that I don't know. Or as some say, reserve the diamond before posting particulars if you are seriously interested in it, but that might not always be practical. Maybe the other way is best.

However any diamond is fair game unless the diamond is on hold or money has changed hands, that is just how it is.

I don''t disagree with anything you''ve said. I''m simply giving some caution to new users. When I was a newbie, I didn''t even think others might want the diamond I was looking at. It simply didn''t occur to me.

I do see what you are saying TT, and it does seem that diamonds are being snatched out from under more and more often now, maybe like I suggested just posting the IS and specs without identifying the actual diamond might be best, bit more work for posters but it might prevent this from happening. We do tend to see some very nice diamonds posted here and I suppose some lurkers might be sitting here daily to check the recommendations with their CC''s ready

If your concerned about optical symmetry from IS images get heart images.
They will tell the whole story.

There are a lot of things that can make symmetry in IS images off, heart images because the table is on a flat surface eliminate a lot of them and the arrows only show the symmetry of a small number of facets where the hearts tell the whole story.

zizzam, I had picked out two ACA''s for earrings, only to find out one had been sold. They found a replacement, and the IS looked just like yours. I called them and questioned them about it, although I had a suspician it was because the stone was tilted when they took the pic. Bob confirmed that was the cause, and that the stone was fine. And it is. But give them a call to be sure.

Thanks for that info Ellen, I did wonder if that was the case with the tilt.

Okay, thanks for the advice everyone. They are pulling the stone and checking to be sure its eye-clean. I will ask about the ideal image

Glad I could help.

Lorelei & Ellen are both internet-diamond assessment vets and got to this before I could.

In this case the ideal-scope is slightly tilted. The most difficult thing about diamond photography is getting such a small object perfectly level for a magnified photo. I used DiamCalc to create a wire frame model matching the proportions of the diamond. It fits the actual photo well because it was more level. The ideal-scope image doesn’t fit the wire frame, and since I guarantee you this diamond is round, it is slightly tilted in that photograph.

Thanks to the dynamic duo for the catch.

Great sentiment Strm. Brings a tear to me eye.

Awesome, thanks John. Katie is having the diamond pulled to ensure that there are no visible inclusions.

No problem. I didn''t know if you were surfing, so I asked her to send the photo info to you as well.
