How do you feel about light loss on this image?

It has a lot of leakage...

On what image - I don't see it.

LOL

Sorry I forgot to add the link:

OK the images are up.

What do you think of the light loss?

Ok. I surely see the JPG. But where is the light loss?

That's one fiery light source you have there! No loss of anything, and the darker area in the middle reads "fire" (as in FIC) for me...

So you don't consider this stone to display any loss? Or negligible?

I thought I saw a lot on the outer facets. Maybe I am looking at mu laptop screen at the wrong angle.

Anyone else have an opinion?

first off that is a computer program generated image not an image that was taken of a diamond.
I haven't seen one generated image that comes close to the actual photo.
The generated ones usualy look worse.

strmrdr,

So to get the actual image that shows light loss I should ask for a true FireScope image?

Also, according to your reply, I should expect the ACTUAL image to look slightly better (meaning showing slightly less light loss)?

Mig

yes

usualy but there are no absolutes and my sample size is fairly small that I have seen both for.

I would not call those white dots "light loss" - they are part of the usual pattern observed on the best round cuts. To produce a full red picture up to the girdle, the minor facets of the crown would have to receive special treatment (a sercah on "tweaked" ) would give you more details than you might wish for on this. And yes, a generated image would greately exaggerate the resolution of the optical signature one can observe on the actual stone. So, these models make things look worse, not better.

the image is of a stone with very good proportions, but is not from a real scanand the DiamCalc settings can be set higher for more reality. But the stone is sure to be nice
