I found this site about a week ago and have been doing a lot of research since then. I can''t believe how much information is available in both the Knowledge section and these old Forum posts! But I could really use some 3rd party advice now as I''m still not sure how to properly read IdealScope and ASET images, so am unable to use them to narrow my choices further.

For reference, here is a link to the 5 diamonds I am currently interested in: Diamond Comparison

We''ve met our $2000 and .75 carat goal by sacrificing on colour, but from what we''ve seen at the local B&M stores, I don''t think this is much of a sacrifice at all as colour seems to be the least noticeable factor to us.

So I would greatly appreciate any feedback on these diamonds that you may have. If you either love or hate specific ones, I''d love to know what makes you think that way.

Also, I''ve read several different messages about cross-border shopping, each with different comments because apparently the laws have been changing. If I have the latest information, it would appear that if I buy a loose stone in the USA and have it delivered to Ontario Canada, I''ll only have to pay the 6% GST and 8% PST on delivery (no Duty or Luxury tax) -- can anyone confirm that?

Thanks,
Rick

You are not getting responses.
You need to makke it easier- put the ASET images up here and we will help you.
Also none of these are fluoro - are you really learning?

If you can post full stats on all 5 diamonds, along with the images as Gary suggests, this will definitely help!

I can''t help with your comparisons, sorry. I don''t know anything about Princesses. I''m in Ontario too, and you are correct. You will pay PST + GST only on your purchase.

Sorry, I thought the comparison table would be easier to use/less error prone, but I''ll post the details here as well:

As was mentioned, unfortunately these diamonds are not fluorescent. And I''m attaching the ASET images for the 3 diamonds.

Thanks for looking, and please let me know if I overlooked anything else,
Rick

Actually, the comparison chart made it easier for me! I would choose one of the two ACA princess stones! They are top cut quality and should be the most beautiful! In addition, ACA stones get a 5% wire/pricescope discount, so they will be less than is shown on the webpages.

First of all, you need to decide what shape you want! Once you do that, have WF compare and pick the best one. That''s what I would do.

That''s a good plan, too! But I would be a little afraid of the very thin girdles on the x-factors unless you were setting them in a halo setting. VVS is overkill as VS1 is extremely clean and costs a little less. Plus the ACA''s get a better discount. So I would choose this one over the others:

Thanks for the feedback. I saw something similar to an X-Factor in a B&M yesterday evening, and wasn''t a big fan of the look, so I have decided to just stick to Princess. So I guess I''ll have to do a little more last minute searching and then I''ll ask the folks at WF to give their opinion.

Also thanks for confirming that paying the GST+PST will be involved in cross-border shopping (I didn''t notice your message yesterday!)

Thanks again,
Rick
