Is this a rather bad case for a VS2? what do you think?

No, do not judge the clarity grade of a stone from the clarity plot, it does not tell you the seriousness of the inclusion, just the approximate size, shape and location of the inclusion.

SC is right - the purpose of the plot is merely to tell you where to look relative to placement, etc.

I''ve seen several plots that looked horrendous, only to find the correlating stones looked amazingly clean in person.

Absolutely, you cannot judge whether a diamond is eyeclean or not by the clarity plot, it just tells you what type of inclusion are there, size, location/s etc.
