I had uploaded a 1.3 earlier last week that most were not to crazy about. I had a 1.21 brought in and was able to see the diamonds side by side. Here are photos of the 1.21 G, VS1, excellent, excellent.

The windmills on this one are much tighter and it really sparkles. I liked the size of the 1.3 but next to this one you could tell a color difference from about 18" away. On skin it was even more apparent.

what did you think of it in person?

I miss the old strm who just let it rip.

I liked it. I thought it was a nice stone. No opinions? I guess Asscher's are too subjective?

did you view it in soft diffused lighting?

I view it in the office at white flash. The lights are "day light" full spectrum lights. I viewed it under a LED light that made it "sparkle" like you''d expect to see in a retail store. I viewed it under a microscope, a 10x loop, and the white flash desk lamp. We placed it again skin, white back, black back, and different settings.

Should I have tried viewing it in another way?

Thanks,

-S

I am no expert but it looks a little dark in the middle. Did you notice that in person? It could just be the photo angle.

If held in a certain way I could get a dark streak. We viewed this for about an hour going over different angles. The 1.3 I had posted on a different thread was easier to get a dark spot. With this particular stone it was not as noticeable.

As far as fused light, I was watching Karl''s diamond cut (http://www.vimeo.com/6704786) and we did the same type of testing under similar lighting conditions. I did not ask if the lamp on the desk was diffused light, those that know WhiteFlash can answer that question.

Can someone provide an idealscope of a 3 step Asscher that does not have any dark spots? I have not viewed one in person that I could not spot a dark streak at some angle.

Thanks for the feedback,

-S

How did it look with just the ceiling lights?
And not directly under the desk lights?
You know just regular room light like you were at home or the office.

going by the pictures it isn''t the brightest diamond around but what it don''t tell is if it gets brighter with very minor tilt which many do.

I was only in WF office and Brian said the lights in his office were to simulate natural light.

The windmills and the edges would light up when turned. As bright as some of the others I have view, probably not. But the contrast between the windmills and the center were not bad. I made sure and brought my wife's best friend so I could get some full spectrum female eyes on it as well. She liked the 1.21 as well.

Well let me ask this question. Does a weak Aset provide leverage for price? Or are diamonds only priced by the GIA performance?

PS, Karl I was wondering why everyone was waiting on you to reply when you only had 260 some posts. I did my research Mr. Storm and I thank you for commenting on my thread!

sorry cant provide help by email.

The price on asschers is all over the place.
I would not expect this one to be the cheapest around nor the most expensive.
Do a search and compare prices.

Also do you have the crown height?

It sounds like you did a pretty good job looking it over and liked it so your ahead of the game.

I have requested the Sarin. It was not included when the pictures were sent. Here is the listing for this diamond on WF:

Now I have a dilemma..
no matter how I word this it could bite me and if I remained quiet then it wouldn''t be me so I''m going to give my honest thoughts.

Price is good.
The same diamond is listed for $200 less at Abazias but WF provided a lot of services for that $200.
They provided a lot of images as well as met with you in person.
That is worth $200 to me.

I don't think anyone would bite you on that one. I called my rep on that one too before I started this search. She said the same thing!

I am a fair person looking for a fair deal. And all I ask for are honest opinions.

So I could continue the search for a diamond that has a better Aset image and the same GIA specs but that diamond should cost more. Correct?

Thanks,

-S

pricing is funny some times might cost more or less or the same...

The question is did you love it? yes or no?
If you did go for it if not keep looking.
