I am looking to spend about 12k on an e''ring diamond. It will be set in a Tacori 2620 setting and my gf has a 3.75 ring finger size. Please let me know about your thoughts on this diamond.

Also, how do you ask if a diamond is "eye clean"? That is my biggest concern with an SI1 stone and has made me think about a VS2 instead.

It could be a nice firey diamond with that small table and high crown. The pic doesn''t look too bad, but I''d like to see an Idealscope pic on it to say for sure.

As for eyclean, do you not want to see anything from any angle and distance? If so, let them know that. If you just don''t want to see anything from a face up position and don''t mind seeing something from the side or bottom, tell them that. You just need to be specific on what you want!

I''d ask for an IS pic.

You're welcome, and I spoke too soon!

Here's an explanation on IS.

Your IS pic doesn't look bad at all. I'm thinking it's slightly tilted, which is making it look slightly leaky in that one area. Ask the folks at JA if that is the case. And even if it was actual leakage, I don't know that your naked eye would detect it. I think it has great potential!

Thritto.

When you indicated that the IS pic has leakage are you referring to the cloudy area around the inner area of the diamond. I have been struggling to learn how to read an IS image. Obviously you don''t want a lot of white, but I have been unable to tell what "a lot" is. Please help if you can!!

No problem - I will explain and post some stuff to help you!

Ok, if you look at the IS image, just outside the table you can see there is a slightly paler area in between some of the arrow shafts, this looks like a small amount of leakage. Now, to put this into perspective it looks to be to be the sort of leakage that might not even be noticeable to the naked eye. If you read this page it explains more and shows you examples of how bad leakage can get.

The image in question also looks slightly tilted as Ellen pointed out, so this might make any perceived leakage less of an issue still. Personally I think it could be a great diamond, but what I would suggest is to ask JA's gemologist Julianna to take a look at the diamond for you, ask her about the leakage on the image and if it impacts the diamond in any way, she will be truthful with you.

Great info on that site thanks!! I think I am going to keep my search going and see if there is another diamond that catches my eye.

If you have seen any candidates that would be 1.55-1.75 RB F-H, VS2-SI1, H&A type cut I would love to hear about them. I''m looking to spend 10-13k.

Hearts. Does this make the stone any more appealing?
