Yes she rejected 18 but is going to try and get a stone that is slightly smaller but hopefully with a better color in my price range.

I have decided I cant buy this diamond. I love the setting but the diamond is a G 1.5 oval and has definite hints of yellow that I would not be comfortable spending this kind of money on. Color is very important to me. If it was an F I would probably already be engaged. This is driving me crazy!!

Am I the only one who is dying to see a picture of an $8,000 setting (with no large sidestones)????

no! I would love to see this ring too

Mike.......It doesn''t seem likely that a quality cut stone in the G color range has any hints of yellow color. I sincerely doubt if you saw two stones of equal cut quality, one in F and the other in G, side-by-side that you could ever deteck any color differences. My stone, is a 1.12 G VS2 stone, ideal cut, mounted in platinum and there is absolutely not any hint of color in the stone whatsoever.

Maybe you commented on this before, but who graded the stone? Was it AGS, GIA? If it is truly a G rated stone, it should be quite colorless.
