First and only time (hopefully) engagement ring buyer. Have read a bunch over the last few weeks from a lot of you. Need some thoughts on these three in particular. All score pretty well on the HCA tool.

The 1 carat j vs2 would be my choice. I'm thinking the "I" is
Not eye clean.

I would also pick the 1.0ct VS2 J, and would be concerned about the I being eye clean. The J looks like a great choice to me and looks very nice on JA images. Congratulations!! :)

THanks for the thoughts. Was told by the James Allen contact that all 3 diamonds are eye clean, so I go back and forth between the first and the third.

The third appears the best, but the question is whether it is $1000 dollars better considering that is the actual price difference.

A nicely cut stone right on the X.00 carat mark - those aren't terribly common!

I would suggest having #1 shipped out loose to inspect in-person. If it's clean to your personal requirements there's no reason to spend the extra 1k on something you won't appreciate! And on the other hand if it isn't clean you've saved a lot of time, and you've avoided stressing your chosen setting by unsetting this stone and re-setting a new one, for the price of return shipping...

I vote for the J VS2 as well. An inclusion right in the table is not a good one to have. The J VS2 is visibly larger than the other two...6.4mm vs 6.2mm. The price difference is worth it if it is within your budget.
