Opinion on 1.5c GOG Round Brilliant

Looks like a gorgeous stone assuming it is eyeclean!

I'm told it is eye clean - however I am somewhat concerned with it being an Si2 and an I color. Given that the HCA score was great (1.3) , would this likely offset the lower clarity and color in terms of fire and brilliance?

Not an expert, but the table does look heavily marked. Are those twinning wisps? Also the gia report shows that other twinning wisps are not shown in the diagram.

If I remember correctly, there was a poster who bought a similar diamond. She was told it was eye clean. But when she got it home, under certain light those twinning wisps were very evident at certain angles. Eyesight varies. Someone else may not be able to see them, but you might. So with an SI2, I think you and your girlfriend need to see it for yourselves to see if it is eyeclean to your standards.

You have to decide what your limits are for color and clarity. My limits are higher than that. But others prefer the largest size possible and opt for lower color and clarity to get it.

Twining wisps can be some of the best inclusions for an SI2 (or SI1). But as has already been said, some people have sharper vision and may be more clarity sensitive than others. So assuming the cut is excellent, color and clarity basically are just personal preference. Excellent cut stones are beautiful in every color, but some people prefer a stone that really looks white and others don't mind a very slight reduction in color to get more size.
