There are two "Pricescope tools" to judge these numbers - first comes the AGA cut quality charts and then you can always see if another stone on offer comes at a better price. With a few hundred quotes and a dozen sellers, this refference seems quite good. I am still surprised to see the amount of price variation

According to the AGA chart (LINK) this pear is an "ideal cut". Even before a chack on price, it appears to be a very good buy - the last 10 points before the 2 carat mark allow for a nice size for the cost. And indeed this price comes among the best for colorless, VS pears in this weight range. Actually, there aren't too many of them in the resepctive desirable weight range to begin with

... but, all this doesn't tell allot of what the stone looks like. Did you see it? It would be great to have some picture to look at, at least. For once the outline of a pear can varry somewhat for any given set of proportions and some of these variations you may not like. Also, it would be nice to get an idea of this stone's light return.

It is posted in Good Old Gold. I have not seen, but picture looks nice. Could you tell me more about the stone, if you have a chance to see it in the site?

I see... well, perhaps pears are noe meant to be the most brilliant of all cuts but Jonathan's light tests (see below) seem to show that this is not the most brilliant of pears either. The other think would be the fables "bow tie" - there is little to beseen in the Bscope's picture (the black specs on the immage copied at the right of the scale) but the hadn picture show quite a bit more.

I am not sure if or to what extent a better Briliance score would make a comparable pear even more appealing. But, Good Old Gold is the one place to go and ask about technicals and the ultimate diamond cut humanly possible. So... I would ask about all these.

The picture compares the brilliance scope results for the diamond you selected with the one that scores best of the three pears on GOG's site. I really have no idea what other seller would have a pear shaped diamond listed with comparable data at this time.
