We didn''t have enough of our cake left over to save any....but my hubby did go back to the baker for our 1 year (and 2 year) and get a smaller cake made of the same flavors that were in our wedding cake. SO GOOD!! Makes me want some now......

Update: we tried the cake tonight (snip) and ... it was delicious!!!! It tasted so fresh and yummy -- we couldn''t believe it! I guess those million layers of plastic wrap and foil really did the trick

Well, the proof of the pudding is in the eating! I am sure I ate ours. I do not recall the occasion (it was 30 years ago) and my husband isn''t mad about cake unless it''s chocolate. (We never even considered having a chocolate wedding cake.)

I have to say that it is lovely to read this thread and see a group of you celebrating one year anniversaries pregnant. Maybe the time has come to resume the tradition of having the top tier of the wedding cake act as the first baby''s christening/birthday cake!

You were always on the beam, Tacori. I remember that from before you were married! :-)

YEAH!! My sis called and said their caked thawed wonderfully and was delicious. Apparently I made a very large top tier, though. She says they have about twelve pieces!
