Finally ordered FI's wedding band. Having not wanted one at all, I then showed him some Mokume Gane ones - and he went and changed his mind. My bank account almost wishes he hadn't!
The manufacturer is Andura Designs (www.anduradesign.com), their Managing Director,Tim , seems really nice and I can't wait to see it IRL.
We went for a 4mm solid-forged domed band in 'tri-gold'. It's a blend of 18k rose gold, 14k palladium alloy white gold, and 18k green gold. I've asked them to make it quite subtle and in the 'wood-grain' pattern.
FI is particularly keen on it as Mokume Gane, or Damascan work is a technique used by Samuri sword-makers. For my 33rd birthday he bought me some amazing hand-made Japanese knives with Damascan steel blades with 33 folds. They are so beautiful it seems a shame to use them!
He's already asked if he can have cufflinks to match for his 5th Anniversary 'upgrade'
! That man is getting bad habits from PS!
Here's a picture of the ring...
We're having our rings engraved with the date we met rather than the date we are getting married - otherwise in the space of 3 weeks we have wedding anniversary, my birthday and our 'meeting' anniversary. So we are only going to celebrate the meeting anniversary and my birthday.
