I've seen many homes with many wonderful features.
But here, there's almost nothing I'd change.

Penny for your thoughts.

I read an article a few days ago that showed the outside of this home, the property and the stunning views. It’s a charming home. I wish this article showed more views of the homes exterior.

Window grills in all the windows would have made the windows look prettier and would improve the look of the home. They are shown in the front of the home pictures and add to the charm. The windows look too modern in the home without them in my opinion.

Thank you for posting this story @kenny.

@Calliecake I agree a window itself looks nicer (actually, more in line with current fashion) with grills.

But IMO blocking one single square millimeter of THAT view is a crime against nature, against humanity, and against the $15,000,000.00 I paid to enjoy it!

How's 'bout, you install window grills on your half, and on my half I don't?
Better yet, have your optometrist install wire grills right into the lenses of your glasses.

The property and the views are stunning.

... and with her binoculars, Sarah Palin could "see Russia", or at least Portugal, from the house.

Never again will I live in snow, so I'd have to do a climate transplant from this Southern California beach city.
Do you have any idea what that a would cost?

But then again, if I wait long enough climate change will do that for free.

I've found it on Google Maps.
The property's distinctive features in the bird's-eye pic made it easy to spot.
I just searched
for the city of Cape Elizabeth, ME, then scrolled up the coast.

A charming property - although I don’t like the location of the powder room relative to the front door

@CMN what is a powder room?

I neeeed that kitchen! Perhaps a smaller version with beautiful views? For my next house, I plan on having
an outside wall in the kitchen where I can put a window and sink. Outside the window, there will be a tree and a bird feeder.

The next home will probably be when we downsize, so it won't be anytime soon.

It is beautiful and traditional and those views! From every window! It really is a lovely home.

+1
I love how even the poor slob, relegated to doing prep at the second sink on the left, also gets a view!!!

But I'd never get any work done in that kitchen.
I'd just stand there, gawk & drool, so I'd need recipes that call for some drool.

Everything looks so new.
I wonder what it looked like when Davis herself lived there.

For 8 oceanfront acres that private and isolated in Malibu, California I doubt $15 M would even cover the down payment.

@kenny,
A powder room is a small half bathroom (toilet and sink) where guests can go to "powder their nose".

A view from the bathtub, AND a fireplace on the porch??? I. AM. IN.

Thank you.

I never knew that.
But then, I've never snorted cocaine.

Finally I understand why so many expensive houses have twice as many ... uhm ... "bathrooms" as bedrooms.

:love:Ayuh, lovely.
It feels familiar to me as that's the coast style up here, albeit with a whooole lot more zeros behind it

Fun fact:

The house was used for scenes in a few Bette Davis movies.

The estate was known as Witch Way.

Kenny, I love the grills.

I love the fireplace on the porch.
