I know there are a flood of people coming her asking for advice on a particular rock.
I found your forum several weeks ago during my search for an e-ring advice. Without the collective knowledge here I would in a completely different and uncomfortable position than I am now. Even with all my new found knowledge I still hit the hesitation point when purchasing something online and would appreciate a little advice. I ran this piece through the HCA and I believe I am comfortable with the overall specifications of it. Here are the numbers:
Depth 62.4
Table 57%
Crown Angle 35
Crown Height 15%
Pavi Angle 41.2
Pavi Depth 43.5
Comes out to a 3.7. I know if is a perfect score but the budget has to give somewhere.
The GIA says
1.08ct, I, VS1, cut grade excellent
VG polish and symmetry with faint flourescence.
Price is just under $5200.
It comes from a reputable online retailer whose name I won''t mention at this time. Just because I do not believe it is relevant other than they are well known.
My thoughts are that I am fine with this color grade, especially in a pt setting and with faint flour. At VS1 it should be more than eye-clean. I was looking for something just 1ct so it fits the bill there as well. Only hold up is the slightly lower score on the HCA. My alternative is searching for another diamond with lower clarity (I was originally shopping in the VS2 range but willing to slip to SI1 for the right piece). Will I be disappointed with the brilliance of this diamond? Does the price seem like a good fit for the specs? If it were your money what would you rather see?
Thank you for taking a look and lending any advice you might have.
