Please choose between left and right. All comments welcome. Thank you guys!

At first glance, I prefer the first one - do you have more details such as colour and clarity etc?

Me too. The second one seems to have a clarity issue.
I'd love to know the stats on these.

eta: the first one also looks a bit chunkier.

I can see that too....I wondered if it was an inclusion or something reflecting in the stone, at about 9 ''o''clockish?

I hope you don''t mind, I resized for easier viewing! So far I like the one on the left.

Hiya Lorelei!

Yah, it looks like a feather--it also looks like it reflects within the stone which could potentially make the clarity appear worse. hmmm More info please!

Let''s try that again!

Thanks Ellen!

The second one looks a bit more symmetrical, but the clarity appears suspect. The first one appears to have a bit more color.

Thank you for the resize.

1st one (left):
.70 H VS2

2nd one (right):
.74 H SI1

The one on the right is said to be eye clean so I''m not sure if that''s an inclusion at 9 o''clock or if it''s the background. I might have to ask about that.

Thanks for the comments. More are welcome!

I wondered if it could be the background reflecting there possibly, there seems to be a bit of roughness on the surface the diamond is sitting on - but I am sure the vendor will soon put you right!

Thanks for adding the info!

The photo is blown up, so I'm seeing things as I would at high power. Can you see the stones in person?

Which one do you prefer? Price difference?

eta: I thought that about the background too, E.

That''s a fairly significant inclusion in the stone on the right which really jumped out at me. I would want the vendor to define their version of "eye clean".

I prefer the shape of the cushion on the right, but the clarity of the one on the left is more appealing...

Mark from ERD picked these out and he said the one on the right is really nice. It''s priced at 1825. I still need to find out the price difference for the stone on the left.

Cool--you're working with Mark.

I really like the facet pattern of the one on the right, and if it's eye clean--even better.

Is this for an engagement ring?

Yes this is for engagement ring. :)

I like the one on the right better minus the inclusion. The facet pattern on the left is nicer but the symmetry is really throwing me off - what is it rated as?

Shape of the right one is nicer to me as well.

It also looks like both have 4 pavillion mains. Ask Mark to find you one with 8 so you can compare if you like it better.

Both symmetry ratings are VG

I wonder if the background is reflecting in the second stone? The background appears uneven and somewhat stained. I really like the shape of #2, but unless that is just reflections in the stone, the clarity on #1 is much nicer. Good luck

So I finally got an answer from Mark.

The 2nd stone does indeed have an inclusion where we all can see (at 9 o''clock). However, this is a 40x picture and without that, he says the diamond is eye clean.

What do you guys think? I am asking him for the price on the left stone.

You said Mark said the one on the right is really nice, but what exactly does that mean to him, and you? And whatever that is, is it nicer than the one on the left? I'd want the one that is brightest, and has the best scintillation and fire, whichever one that is. Have you asked him about all this specifically?

Just got off the phone with Mark. I chose the one on the right. He says it is more brilliant than the one on the left and it will look better in a novo setting due to its shape and symmetry.

I''m a happy camper so far. Can''t wait to get it! Thanks all :)

Good choice. That would have been mine too! Nice stone. Make sure to post photos of the finished ring!

Mark''s a jewel isn''t he ;)

just a great guy to work with.
Keep us posted !!

Good choice, I am sure the ring is going to be beautiful

Will definitely be posting pictures, and yes Mark is great! Has anyone bought stones from him that weren''t cushion cuts?

Can''t wait to see it , it looks beautiful!!
