I have read a few historical fictions (although not really romance) over the years and I decided it's a bad idea for me. My grasp on history (based on a lack of real interest) is tenuous at best so to read something like that would probably implant in my mind as The Real Thing, no matter how far from the actual truth it was. I think I'm better off knowing little than knowing the wrong thing! It's kind of like my geography "knowledge." If you showed me a globe with things moved around I likely wouldn't know it!
I used to read them because I started running out of childrens and teens books at the library because of how much I read books. But it's not my personal preference. A little romance is fine just don't want to read what is essentially p*rn. I don't read as many books these days but I really should.
i did love north and south and its trigoly - but Patrick Swazy really made that mini series !that’s funny! I remember watching blue/grey or north/south tv miniseries and trying to use that as knowledge for 6th grade social studies as I remembered it better than what was taught by the teachers! So I can relate.
oh oh oh me again !
well i sit at home with nothing much to do all day
what about Bella and Edward ?
at forty something i was totally smitten with twlight and Gary happily watched the first two movies ...less happily the next 3
i read the 4 books in 8 days ...ok i think i may have pulled a sickie for one of those days !
and yes im very excitted about midnight sun - twilight as narrated by Edward being released soon
i brought my mum all 4 books but saddly the dementia was just starting to rob her of concentration and basically enjoyment of life so she said they were silly which i thought was so sad because the characters are so likeable and fundamentally good and even the baddies are pretty.
and it seemed like every female on the planet got to be a teenager again through their love of Twlight![]()
