Hello all—

I haven’t been here for years but this forum helped with my engagement ring 9+ years ago. I’m now on the hunt for diamond studs. My husband gave me some beautiful WF bezel studs .25ctw for our wedding present. I still love them and am now looking for something larger.

I’d love to be over 1.25 ctw (I mean, I’d actually love 1.5 ctw...but that’s not going to happen!) I’m fine with low color, low clarity, but excellent cut— and I’m trying to do this all for around 3k. Am I out of my mind? Any new vendors that I should check out or just head back to WF?

Have you thought about upgrading with WF? Or would you like to keep your bezel studs and look for a new pair, cuz if you do, WF has good upgrade policy, you might even end up getting 1.5 ctw?
 
I would— but they were the preset ones, so not upgrade eligible. Good idea, though!
 
I would talk to I.D. jewelry.
 
You can also check with IDJ and fourmine for great prices...

Ok I'm not vouching for Overstock because their CS service has gone down in the recent years, but these come with free return option so you may be able to risk it if you're not particular with clarity and color, while wanting H&A cut.

I noticed those a while back but never took a chance since I'm very sensitive to inclusions, but they might be worth checking out.

Thank you! These look like great options! Glad there is something that will work in the budget! Is Brian Gavin more highly regarded than James Allen?
 
I think most would put Brian Gavin's Signature stones on par with WF ACA's. Brian Gavin is a diamond cutter and you can find many thread's here referring to him and even some comparison threads comparing his branded stones, WF ACA's and CPI stones. They are branded stones of ideal cut quality. But if you think you will continue to upgrade, I believe WF and HPD (a CBI vendor) have the most generous upgrade policies.

Given your budget constraint, I would buy the stones that fit your budget from the vendor with the best upgrade policy and cut, WF and FPD.
 
Thanks! I love the HPD upgrade policy— as I don’t think I’d ever meet the BGD upgrade policy. It didn’t look like there were any stones at HPD that met my budget but I’m going to contact them! Thanks for the tips!
 
Looking at WF now— a lot more pricey — or at least doesn’t seem to have the same selection of lower color to get me into my budget. I also contacted IDJ a few days ago but haven’t heard back from them.

I forgot to mention please request them for aset , IS images and videos if they can provide for these if you find the pair in your requirements. Check with vendor if the stones are eye clean from earrings perspective....

I've contacted Four Mine a couple times on info on stones and haven't heard back from them yet. Maybe it takes a few days to gather the data. Once I get my mind on something, I love answers right away! :)

I love the ones you posted and am wondering if there are any stones a tad larger. Maybe I wouldn't even notice the difference but I'd love to never feel the need to upgrade. Either way, I'll post an update on what I end up picking. I always love to see the finished product in these posts. Thanks!
 
Mine are from blue nile. Use the search parameters for table and depth etc
