On-Line Purchase

I am not an experienced gem buyer and am looking to purchase an engagement ring. I have found a place on-line called Diamonds from New York that has a ring that is exactly what I am looking for but the price appears about half of what I was expecting. It comes with a GEM Scientific Laboratory Inc (GSL?) grading report that lists the gem at 1.51 carats, VS1 and F color and the ring is around $6K. Has anyone heard of a GSL certification or does anyone have any suggestions? I am concerned that the old ''too good to be true'' adage should apply here.

I'm sure that if you post your budget, the good folks here will help you find a killer stone where there is no question as to the quality. Generally you get what you pay for, and I highly doubt you could find a true VS1 F for that price (meaning the stone is suspect)!!!

I''d be very cautious about getting a 1.5 ct F VS1 stone for $6K. Unfortunately, I have never heard of GSL. Is this a round stone? Are there any specs that you can post?
