"Blinded by the light" lol I'm pretty sure what the answers will be for this massive 9.64 OMC Si2 with the GIA plot below. Have not seen in person, just videos. It looks beautiful - I can see a small black dot on a facet under and maybe what appear to scratches under the table and a bit of 'orange peel-like texture splotched across the bottom looking down from the top. I'm not experinced enough to know whether these are big red flags or whether the size of stone is so remarkable that these things should not matter. Thank you!

is it the M color one @ bijoux box ? if so the plot looks scarier than the video,,, mostly clouds and few crystals - the orange peel splotch might be the natural ?

This is such pretty stone! My only question-if there is a big cavity and you bonk the stone just right will that break the diamond?

I dont recall the video but I think in a stone this size with SI2 it’s likely there will be some inclusions that are eye visible to some extent. The question becomes: does it matter? This is a very rare stone. OMCs are pre-1850s, and a rare old cut style. And obviously this carat weight is incredibly rare. So for me that needs to be taken into account. I’m not so concerned about the plot but would want to examine the stone in person to know what the inclusions looked like. I’d also want the opinion of a qualified independent appraiser concerning whether any inclusions pose any kind of durability risk. Probably not, given its age, but sometimes these diamonds lived in brooches and other jewelry that would not be worn hard. So worth checking. And of course I would want to know the price was fair given the specs though I think comps would be hard to come by.

I’m pretty sure I know this stone you speak of, but I won’t say who has it…

Just that it’s absolutely beautiful. I personally would have a third party evaluate it and if it checked out as structurally sound and I was good with the inclusions, absolutely!

For fun I plugged in the measurements on diambd and decided that my 4.75 short stubby fingers didn’t have enough real estate for a 9ct +

Keep us posted PLEASE!!!
