Thank you to everyone for advice to prior posts.

I am still trying to figure something out. I am searching to see if the diamond I own could be from an earlier cut. The one I have is an Old European Cut, perhaps turn of the century. However, I think that it was recut at that time from an Old Mine Cut (or other type of cut) from the 1860''s. Would I be able to tell if it has been recut? Is there a trail that recutters leave? Also, how much weight loss would there have been from the original, if the diamond is now just over one carat.

Thank you again for your help. I am trying to solve a mystery, and am hoping for a clue.

Images..., images...., images...

And close-up''s might shed some light on your mystery...

I a cutter re-cuts the Diamond fully..., it will be hard to tell..., but if the Diamond was re-cut a long, long time ago...., maybe he (cutter) left a sign.

Thank you. I will attach a photo. There are two chips on the diamond.

Did you say that you are a cutter? Do you have a office somewhere (who knows, maybe close), so that I may bring the ring in?

Thanks again.
