I've had my e-ring from Blue Nile for about a year now. I picked it out myself. For some reason I had my heart set on a heart diamond (no pun intended), but now I sort of regret it. I was just looking at pictures of H&A diamonds from WF, and they have so much more brilliance and fire. I could've gotten a tiffany solitaire with an amazingly cut diamond for $1000, instead I paid $3000 for mine I am not happy with. And I know my fiancee will get really upset with me if I bring this up since we've already spent a fortune (to us anyways)... what do I do?!? Haha. Does anybody else have an experience similar to mine?

There isn''t anything you can do at this point without taking a financial bath on the stone you have. Best just to sit tight till you''ve been married a while then look into a new stone. You could sell yours on eBay or Craigslist, but you won''t get very much out of it. It will make a nice pendant in the future if you keep it. Pearlman''s takes consignment pieces for a reasonable fee but I don''t think you''ll have a lot of luck selling a heart shaped diamond.

this happens pretty often. if i had known about ps before i chose my ring, we would have budgeted and done things differently. you should save your heart diamond for a recycling project. i don''t remember hearing anything about blue nile having an upgrade policy, so i''m assuming you''re stuck with buyer''s remorse and not too many options.

if it makes you feel any better, i have 2 engagement rings, neither of which i''m thrilled with, and neither of which i can upgrade without feeling like i ''wasted'' money.

in spite of my fears otherwise, i found that my husband was pretty open to the plan of keeping my original e-ring and saving up for a larger stone. my original ring seemed like a fortune to us, and we won''t be able to afford the new ring for quite a few years. that''s why i bought an eternity band to tide me over until that upgrade happens.
