Okay, here goes...my first request

Hello all!

Been looking around here for a few months now, and now need to ask for people''s $.02 to aid in my own search. Funny how after reading and reading, and feeling like I''m learning, once I''ve jumped in to the ''actively shopping'' pool I feel lost.

I''ve begun the design process with the folks at Green Lake and am now looking for a stone. Haven''t received a quote yet from GL, so stone budget is still a bit up in the air, though really trying to stay at around $4k or so (looking at princess cut only). Was checking out GOG and saw this stone there. Based on the information provided, it seemed a pretty good deal, but I wanted to ask for other opinions.

I understand that there was a holiday in between, but it seems like a week between contacts may be a bit much, though I''m sure they are busy and don''t want to badger? Just curious about anyone else''s experience with them.

I think it is the time of year when some are on vacation, also email can get lost in spam filters and suchlike, I would give them a call to be on the safe side - badger away - I would! Hehe!

How in the WORLD is that stone $3500???

My I/VVS2 princess was $4400 or so, and I know the clarity is higher...but I thought diamond prices were going UP, not down! And this ACA princess with the same stats is almost $1000 more than the GOG stone.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the incredible price means that stone is not eye-clean, or there''s something else wrong with it. So definitely make sure you check that out. Otherwise, it looks like a great stone and a steal!

I looked at the pics (actual and microscope 2 where they point out the inclusion), I''m gonna say it is eyeclean. Obviously you''ll want to ring them up to confirm

JStar- I wonder if GOG hasn''t raised prices yet? Both Blue Nile and WhiteFlash seem to be much higher lately. Last week GOG had a 1.29 princess, J, SI for $3700! It was gone in about 2 days after pictures were posted.

Maybe it isn''t eyeclean, I doubt there is a problem with the diamond though.

Thanks for everyone''s input. I spoke (via email) with Sarah at GOG who did indeed inform me that this stone is, as she put it "very eye clean", and "eye clean and beautiful".

I think it would be a great choice. The ASET image looks promising and I don''t think the inclusions would be anything to worry about with this one.
