DH and I are FINALLY getting rid of his grandparents dining room set/china cabinet that we *inherited* years ago because we were the only ones with a dining room large enough to accommodate it. We have a HUGE dining room and want to turn it into a Vegas-style lounge area where we can entertain. One end of the room will have a counter height dining area (seating at least 6) and the other end will be a lower conversation pit area - think round table surrounded by 2 rounded swivel chairs and a rounded loveseat. We'll also have a credenza and some shelving on the walls to store glassware, with stemware racks mounted underneath.
The problem I'm having is finding a long narrow dining room table that will accommodate 6-8 barstools (3-4 on either side). I'm thinking it needs to be about 5-6' long, and counter/bar height. I despise glass, so that's out. Ideally I'd like wood, very basic, rectangular. And I can't seem to find what I'm looking for anywhere!!! The bar stools will be no problem, so I don't need help with those. But, the table is the issue.
Any savvy interior designers out there know where I can find something like this, in wood, and black, for not an outrageous sum of $$$?

And feel free to post links/pics of small conversation pit areas as well. I'll take all the ideas I can get! DH and I seem to have very different tastes in style, so we're looking for a compromise. For now, we've decided to let me choose the dining area and shelving, and he'll choose the conversation pit/credenza.
