Ok deal on a Leo Diamond?

This is my first time posting on here I have read a lot. I see many people on here dont like the leo diamond. I purchased this diamond in hopes that I was getting a ok deal. I went into the market looking for something around 1.20ct. I ended up with a 1.47ct Leo. Let me know what you think this diamond is worth.

Do you have any more info - report, photos, scans? We'll need more to chew on.

What does "good deal" mean to you? Fantastic stone? Fantastic price? Some happy medium?

Do you like the way it looks? Did you compare it to other stones in different types of lights in the store when you bought it, and did your eyes consistently like it best?

The problem is that information posted doesn't have a lot of the geomerty/cut details we are used to seeing and using for cut assessments.
This is what someone posted regarding Princess Cut Stones
Cheat sheet for Princess Cuts: (In missy430's opinion)
table: should be from 65 - 72%
crown height: between 9 - 11%
Depth: should be between 64-75%
girdle: thin to med. or med. to thick

That said, potential comparisons could be on the range of
1.34ct E VS2 $7,398 or 1.52Ct / I / VS2 / $7,379 vs. something being cut to Ideal specifications being more the upper end of the range like 1.38ct H SI1 Jubilee Princess Diamond $11,826

Really hard to say where your stone falls, but if you like the stone and feel like you got a good deal, that is a great spot to be in.

What did you pay? Do you *really* want to know what people think, like, would you act on our advice? Can you even return it (not saying you should, but if that is not an option obviously that would change my opinon)?

Well I paid 5,500 for the ring. Kays has the ring on sale right now got 13,499. I can't return it but I don't feel I could have gone to far wrong. I do really wanna know everybody's opinion on it. Can't hurt my feelings.

If you only paid $5,500 for it and you like it, it might be a great deal for you.

Personally, I would want a GIA or AGS report because they have more accurate color and clarity grading. It also looks like it faces up small for its weight.

What does it cost to have GIA or AGS look at the diamond? Guess it would have to be removed from setting to do this.

Explain small face for weight. What weight does the face look like. Can I measures it to help with sides.

If a diamond "faces up small" it just means the diameter or dimensions as viewed from the top are smaller than expected given the weight of the diamond. Usually this occurs because it is either cut too deep or the cutter kept extra weight in the girdle area or something. Since size is what you see, you want as good a 'spread' as you can. Two 1ct diamonds can have very different dimensions based on how they are cut.
