Oh the search...

Omg... You guys are awesome!! So doing this!

So...You guys won't believe this but the WF stone has to go back. After her trying on rings with her sister, she absolutely believes the 2ct stone is just too big and wants something in the 1.3-1.5 range! I am however sold on the legera pave by BGD and so am looking for a stone there. I've liked these two BGD Blue stones and was wondering what you guys think. I've been trying to read lots and lots on fluorescence.

I'm pulling the trigger tomorrow...again! Ugghhhhh.

Sorry to hear you need to return the ACA. But it looks like you have two great alternatuve options from BGD!

Cut-wise the two BGD stones are nearly identical. I like the G because it is 1 color grade higher and because it is medium blue instead of strong blue fluor. Those are pretty much the only differentiating characteristics between the two.

Wow, two near identical stones with the main differences being color & clarity (H VS1 vs G VS2). The other proportions are near identical and I think the overall performance will be very, very similar and hard to detect a difference. Nonetheless, I do think I'd talk to Lesley or Brian and have them pull the stones and compare against one another.

Questions I'd want them to answer with their expert eyes:
  • Does one or the other exhibit more fire?
  • Is the H color high, low or exactly an H? FYI, some H's are near G's. Some are closer to I's. And others are just H's. Because of the fluor, you might ask them to render an opinion under different lighting conditions.
  • While I don't anticipate any issues whatsoever, I'd ask if the inclusions on the table on the G VS2 are visible under any conditions up to 6" from the top or sides and/or affect light performance in any negative manner.
The diamond I bought my fiancee was a BGD Blue H VS2. It has medium blue fluor. I am very happy with it overall, although if I were to re-do the purchase I would prefer a higher color as both my fiancee and I can see slight amounts of tint at certain angles. A G would get me closer.

Also, while you may not upgrade in the future, it is worth noting you must upgrade 2 of the 3 following C's: carat, color or clarity.

Sorry the ACA didn't work out, but you do have two splendid choices here. Also, my experience with BGD was superb. They are good people and I enjoyed working with them. :cool2:

Thank you guys for the response! I will let you guys know soon

So, they say the G appears much more crisp and white when compared side by side to the H. This is the g's pattern below. I pulled the trigger!! Once again, thank you @sledge and @TreeScientist! SmartSelect_20181023-143659_Gallery.jpg
