I’m very angry and confused right now
I got the wrong setting on my e-ring that I just received by mail. The certificate and bill has the correct diamond and setting listed, but the setting is actually more expensive ($2000 more) than what I order for. The one I ordered is a platinum solitaire setting; this one has tiny diamonds all around the side, surrounding the diamond. I’m not even sure if they gave me the correct diamond.
why am I angry…..
I’m afraid when they reset the diamond, the diamond might get damaged from getting it out of this setting.
What about return shipping/fees/insurance? Should I have the vendor pay for this?

what to do now?????

Call the vendor.

ditto. Is it a PS vendor? If so, I''m sure they will do what they can to correct the situation and I would be surprised if it''s their mistake that there would be any additional costs added on to you in order to correct the problem. Don''t worry about the diamond being re-set. people do it all the time and your diamond will be fine.

hey guys....
The diamond i order is H color and has strong blue flour.
Now, the diamond I recv''d....I couldn''t see any blue in direct/indirect sunlight.
I can also see yellow (as in a low color grade) at times, my friend also said he could see yellow color.

Could this be a complete different ring

I order from a PS vendor

Thx

You really need to be in contact with your vendor, there is nothing we can do to help. Except to say we are sorry, but a PS vendor will do their level best to work this out with you. No worries there.

Waiting is hard, but try not to worry... the PS vendors are renowned for making things right for their customers. You will get the right ring and the right diamond. Do you have a cert for the diamond?

Can you imagine the reaction of the person who got your ring? I''d imagine they''d be pretty furious too.

I know it''s wrong.... but I still want to see pics!

ROFL!!!!

What a huge mixup! I''m sorry to laugh at this, but it''s just such an absurd mistake. It''s like the nurse accidentally switched babies at the hospital! I personally love this style of ring...but I''m sure the vendor will clear it up on Monday.

Someone sent you the wrong ring? That''s hard to believe.

I am sure the vendor will clear things up for you tc

Oh no! Don''t fret, I am sure they will put it right for you and whoever got your ring!

Why? Mistakes happen, though not very often.

James Allen is going to have an upset tummy come Monday.

That is a beautiful ring!! I''m sure it''s owner is just as upset as you are to receive the wrong ring. Call the vendor on Monday and it will be resolved.

I have had a 1 ct. diamond with medium blue florescence for over 30 years, and I promise you I have NEVER seen the blue! You''d have to take it into a room with a black light to really see if it is florescent. You don''t just see the blue in ordinary lighting.

A low H can show a little tint, but more than likely you are seeing a tint due to the lighting or wall color, etc. I suppose it could be a different stone as well as setting, but we can''t tell that from what you have said.

The vendor should cover the return shipping. It will not hurt the diamond to reset it. Many of us have done that more than once!

Thanks for everyone¡¯s input...I feel more relieve

I email them since they¡¯re not in business today but the big boss did replied back and is going to call me Monday to get this resolve.
I already made plans to drive up to Montreal next weekend and propose to my GF. Also made appointment with a private appraiser. I¡¯ll just propose some other time, and cancel my hotel¡no big deal

Sorry about the mix-up, I hope it all works out. If I were you I would definitely expect some sort of payback for any costs of your post-poned proposal, especially if you put a lot of thought into it, but that''s just me wanting to hold people accountable. Keep us updated!

What a horrible mix up. I''m glad that it''ll be solved on Monday. When are you re-planning the proposal for?

I wouldn't cancel anything until after you talk to Jim. I know he will do everything he can to try and get the right ring to you in time.

No worries on the hotel cancellation part...it wouldn't cost me anything and I don't want the vendor to fell like I'm trying to take advantage of them.
Only down side is that I have to rearrange everything and thats alot of work.

If they are true professionals they will not damage the stone. It is a diamond thousands of Carbon molecules bonded together, it will not damage easily. You really have nothing to worry about with a diamond being that fragile. But this place might be a fraud so you should check them on everything they do and then go get the diamond looked at by your jeweler in town.

This is a well respected Pricescope vendor. It sounds like a fairly serious mistake was made, but I''m quite sure there was no fraud involved. If they were defrauding someone they''d have given him the correct setting with a lesser stone, not a more expensive setting.

yea..I dont want anyone to think this is a Fraud
lets stay on topic guys...thanks

Sarah, I realize you're new here, and I'm sure you were just looking out for the OP. However, may I suggest doing a search on here for the PS vendors and others, to get a feel for their reputations. That way, you'll be more informed going in to help a poster in the future. JA is a very reputable vendor, we wouldn't want to inadvertantly tarnish their reputation.

And welcome to PS!

What a mistake! You seem like such a nice guy. I am sure they will do EVERYTHING in their power to make it right. I hope it gets corrected soon!

I agree, they will get it straightened out; I hope they can fix it soon so you don''t have to cancel plans. Keep us posted.

Contact the jeweler, vendor, whoever and get it fixed immediately. Good luck!
