Oh no! Oh noooo! I broke my toe.

Oh no. My immediate thought is "forget about the race." LOL. But I hope I am wrong.

I broke and dislocated the pinky on my right foot about years ago. It was so bad that I had to go to an orthopedic surgeon to get it fixed. I laugh about it now, but, seriously, that corner of my foot hurt for a solid year and it completely governed my choice of shoes and activities. I am not exaggerating. At least a year. One day I just woke up and it found it had suddenly just stopped hurting. Looking on the bright side, I amassed a large collection of lovely sandals that I still use to this day.

Oh crap! I'm so sorry to hear it.

Sorry to hear Dreamer. Hoping the biking works for you until you're back @ 100%. You can get those kiddo carriers and pull your kids once the weather gets warm. I bought one for pretty cheap off Craigslist.

You can still keep your cardio up! I did two half marathons a bit too close to each other and ended up with a stress fracture. I did the elliptical instead of running and was fine, cardio wise, for my next half marathon 8 weeks later. The shin splint was another story.

Great news!

It looks like my toe was not broken after all :appl:

As I said, I never had an x-ray because I dont believe in wasting our public medical resources, so a fracture was never confirmed 100%. But within a couple days I could walk in open toed shoes easily, and within 3-4 days my toe was no longer too swollen and I basically didn't know it was hurt unless my kid stepped on it :rodent:

Today I gave a run a try and it felt fine! It is still tender to touch if I squeeze, and its still a little stiff to wiggle and bend, but I had no pain or anything at all when we ran, and no ill effects after. I think it was just badly bruised. But I am really pleased. We will run our 10k at the end of the month after all!!!

Hooray! That's awesome news, Dreamer! :appl:
