Some of you know I kind of like nature photography. There is no shortage of subjects out there. I just spent the night camping at Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Gorgeous place; short of all the flies, ticks, and mosquitos. This was my first trip and I specifically went to look for newborn fawns. They are typically born late May to early June. I have about 450 pictures to sort through but I have a feeling some of you will like this so I had to share...

That is so adorable treefrog!

We had a baby fallow deer about 10 years ago and her name was ''oh dear''! (she was completely wild and had to be tamed) so I was instantly drawn to the name of your thread.

Hey neighbor. Is your snow melted yet?

Thanks. They are very good models. Tough to take a bad picture of a fawn!

And I agree . . . I''ve never seen an ugly fawn! I especially love the early morning pic where they''re standing in the woods. GORGEOUS!!!

It was precious beyond words. Having this opportunity is why I love taking pictures. It was so worth getting up at 1:45am, driving 3 hours, sitting in a field swatting at flies, and sleeping in a tent. Can't wait to go back!

Thanks HOT!

Oh dear, a deer named "oh dear"! Too funny. What happened to oh dear?

I thought that subject line would be mysterious enough to spark some interest.

Thanks for the comments.

Love the deer pics, TF. I wish I could scan and upload every one of the pics my mother has taken over the years of the herds at my parents'' home in Indiana. My dad keeps track of all the babies that cross their acreage and it''s a really big deal to them that the families survive and stick together. The moms and babies typically feed in the front pastures in the evenings and then come up to the orchard (close to the house) to get sweet treats later, and they have a salt block out for them as well. It''s lovely and I wish my parents would stay there forever.

Amazing, treefrog - they''re absolutely precious.

Great pics, TF! I live less than 30 min. from the Shenandoah National Park. There is some beautiful country here

I love the picture with the trees, it''s so ethereal. The perky deer picture is another favorite of mine. You really take beautiful pictures and those deers are so precious.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful photography.

I always love your photos, Treefrog! These are great!

Oh my goodness. What a sweetie. I love baby deer!

Beautiful; thank you for posting.

I''m luck enough to live surrounded by national forestry so see deer most days but they scamper off before I could ever look as closely as that. Well done!

So cuuuute! Thanks for posting these!
