Hi Chrono.

I saw in the archives somewhere that you had/have an emerald cut. Do you have any photos of it posted? I''m wondering about your feelings/thoughts about emerald cuts. Asking as I really value your opinion and great knowledge.

I''ve had an interest in emerald cuts lately but have never had one so wanted some thoughts from the inside.

Thanks, Sonoma

Does she ever - what?

:)

sending this to the top, again

Yes, I have an EC as my e-ring. My first had a large table, then I learned about cuts here on PS and upgraded to a fireball EC.

. I started with RBs because that''s all I ever saw, but once I saw an EC I was hooked. I just love the large flashes of fire and how uncomplicated the faceting is. I believe a person either likes it or hates it. Unfortunately, I''ve never taken a picture of it. I don''t think I''ve ever taken a picture of any of my stuff - I''m too embarassed to try. Well, I did once but nothing turned out. The pictures were so terrible I never tried again.

Do you have any specific questions in mind?

Thanks. Btw, my cushion is similar to yours. I'm trying to get the right words - oh - something like - how does your cushion perform in comparison to your ec? (Yes, I know, they are two totally different fish. And you did tell me some above, thanks.) Do you like cushion or ec better? Does your ec or cushion do fire better?

Yes, I know it's a vague, fuzzy question. However, you always have great insight and knowledge, so I'm asking.

Thanks,

Sonoma

I love both my cushion and EC for very different reasons. My cushion has smaller and more frequent flashes of fire compared to the EC. The EC is more muted but when it catches the light, it blinds your eye. The flash is huge. I''ve seen mine throw giant rainbows across the room which my cushion never did. The cushion has a lot of fire but it''s smaller, more frequent and doesn''t flash as far.

If you enjoy seeing the clean lines and step cuts, then you''ll like it. I like the shape and find the steps/faceting fascinating.

Thanks Chrono. That is exactly what I was looking for. Yours sounds beautiful and like lots of fun.

Oh no, so now I''ve added an emerald to "the list".

Thanks again, Sonoma

No worries Sonoma County, this is why we were designed with 10 fingers, one neck and two ears. You can put a different diamond shape on each one

Judging from my last visit to CA, I'd say people are finding even more places than you mentioned Todd.

You''re welcome Sonoma. It''s my duty to "convert" people into EC lovers.
