A Florida woman arrested on suspicion of drug possession said the cocaine must have been blown into her handbag by the wind, police say.

Kennecia Posey, 26, was one of two passengers in a car that was stopped by Fort Pierce police on 21 March, local TV station WPLG-News reports.

"I don't know anything about any cocaine," Ms Posey told officers, according to an arrest report.

"It's a windy day. It must have flown through the window and into my purse."

According to the network, the vehicle was swerving in the road when officers decided to pull it over.

I mean, Colombia isn't far from Florida and it can be very windy down there.
Those Caribbean trade winds can be brutal, ya know.
Years ago we vacationed in Key West and airborne baggies constantly were constantly flying into our rental car.

Poor thing.
The police should just leave her alone.

I feel for the public defender/attorney tasked with defending her with THAT story. It reminds me of my classmate (a public defender) who posted on FB that his white supremacist client (who sported a swatiska tattoo), had him petition that he receive Kosher meals in jail. So he had to do it with a straight face in court. Oh, did I also mention that my classmate is black? Yup. Newsflash, it was denied...

Hopefully she has a no-nonsense attorney who tells her just to cut a deal.

The article I read stated the officers smelled marijuana in the car and she admitted right away to smoking marijuana. When they found the cocaine she told them it must have blown in the window. She had no idea how it got in her purse.
