I personally would put it in the prong setting unless you were going to put a halo around it. I think the older cuts are to pretty to be side tracked by a bezel....its a wonderful stone!!

Oh I LOVE those!!! I''m so jealous!! And I also love that setting Ericad just posted.

Oh AJ I love

How do you feel about buttercup style settings? Very vintage feel and will also add size to the stone.
Very cool idea Erica ! Any idea where to get something like that? It reminds me of WF's bellerina one, very pretty.

What do you think of my stones??!!

Thankyou everyone for the compliments and suggestions, I am listening to all of them

Beautiful, and if it were me, I would retain a square halo for it, to modernize the art deco look of the antique cut, similar to how it is set now, but in a more modern halo. I love round stones in square heads.

Hey TL, thankyou for the suggestion - that is an interesting idea ! Kinda like the Frank Gehry "torque" pendant from Tiff''s..? (sorry, can''t post a pic.)
I''ve always liked that, although I must admit it may be a tiny bit too "different" for what I''m after..I think I''m gonna go for the real classic, every day look.
After all, better to wear our diamonds as much as possible, right!?

Gorgeous stones, aj! I especially love the look of the .8! I would go bezel all the way for the pendant! (And when you get the James Meyer ring I am going to freak out! I must have something from him, too!)

P.S. I think you (or whoever you send) has to spend $1000 to get the $100 from WF.

Beautiful stones!! I love old stones. Can''t wait to see those babies set!!

Oooh! I adore the cut of the ring. It looks lovely! I''m also a huge fan of the square head setting- my original e-ring was set in one (but a lottttt smaller!)

I''d bezel the cute .5 one. Very pretty!

Hey LGK, I''m glad you dropped by and you think they look nice ! I was hoping you would approve, lol

I also quite like the current ring setting, if its not too badly warn I will most likely keep it like that for some time.

So the 0.5 is paid for and should be on its way to me soon!!
Hopefully it gets here before xmas

Both stones look very promising, Arjunajane! I really love the OECs with floral facet pattern and the 2nd stone will make a killer pendant!

I posted this pic on another thread, but wanted you to see an example of a very delicate fixed chain bezel. This one has milgrain and a vintage look, but a sleek chunky bezel (like the pic you posted) would be a really cool contrast to the chunky facets of the old cut too. I personally love the look of old stones in modern style settings :)

Oohh, thats lovely! Thankyou for poating it Erica, and also for commenting on my stones.
I''m guessing is this another piece from you and Grace..? Or perhaps SS ?

You''re right, that fixed bezel does look really good - no big mickey ears here, lol !

I have emailed Grace a couple days ago about some options for the 0.5, hopefully we can find something as pretty as these other ones
