I am looking at a 1.35L OEC and wanted opinions on this particular stone? It faces up like a modern round 1.5ct and wanted some feedback.

It is the stone on the right and in the solo portion of the video. I also included a picture and it is the one on the right.

Thank you!!!

It's a little more 'rustic' in it's faceting pattern, reminding me of an OMC. What are you looking for exactly color/clarity/faceting pattern and what budget do you have?

It appears to have good light return, which is a positive if it is the kind of stone you are looking for.

Yes, I am looking for ideal light return, thus I prefer AVR's but as of right now my significant other doesn't prefer the super symmetrical flower facet patterns. I am a huge of the optics of the AVR tho and my budget is around 4.5k give or take.

Oh I think it is beautiful and a great bang for your buck!

It looks beautiful to me. OECs come in many flavours and the one on the right is just a different flavour, that's all.

Thank you for all the input!!

Gabe, I'm not an expert but I prefer the AVR. The transitional is shallow and has a large table (63.5%), not sure about its performance. Others with more knowledge will chime in soon.

Is the stone you initially posted off the table?

Is the Transitional in the video the same stone as the one posted in the first post? It looks to be a different diamond. I am usually drawn to transitionals but this particular transitional diamond isn't cutting it for me. The facets are too slivery (as opposed to chunky), the table is way too huge, and the crown is too low which all contributes to it not being as flashier as others I have seen.

Ditto! And it's dark under the table. I like transitionals too but I think she needs to find a different one. She is going to wear it
so I think you should get her what she wants.

I believe they are 2 different stones, the first is 1.35 carats and the transitional is 1.1 carats. That's why I asked if the first stone was still under consideration. I prefer the OEC to the transitional myself.

Junebug.
Thanks for the clarification. That 1.35 L simply knocks my socks off.

Oh, I agree, I think it's beautiful!

I like the AVR as well if her eye prefers that specific transitional buy her a well cut modern round brilliant with arrows or a 60/60 well cut Round brilliant and save yourself a lot of hassle.
