i''ll try to post some more in a little while

I luv oec''s!!!! The stone looks great, although looks very white for being a J....I have an oec that''s a j, and its gorgeous, but doesn''t look nearly as white as that one.....

MB, I thought you already got your OEC, or am I hallucinating?!?

I haven''t bought an OEC yet..
i keep eyeing them though.
My last diamond was a modern RB.
This new ring that i''m looking at would be a christmas present for myself :)

Well, well, well, aren''t we good to ourselves missy?!? You must have been VERRRRRY good this year, huh?!

If it''s from where I think it'' from, cant you go look at it in person?

Surfgirl..
I was hoping you''d see my post! glad you responded.

i live in California.. getting to their storefront would cost me a pretty portion of the price of the ring...
hehe i''ve been good.. but not good enough to fly to the other side of a country to look at a ring.

wow - it is a really pretty ring and the price is unbelievable! i have wondered about that site and how they have the suggested retail price almost twice the selling price. how do they do it?

do they have a return policy or restocking fee? i didn't see any info when i looked. if you can not return it, i would say not worth the risk.

ETA : oops did see that they do have a return policy - sounds like a possibility!

ETA again : you might want to do a google search "COMPANYNAME quality". the first link will be eye opening (plus it is a PS post). just something to consider.

I think it''s gorgeous! I usually don;t fall in love with an OEC because I cannot stand large open culets but this one is so tiny and the rock is so big and sparkly! It looks phenomenal!

Skippy..
i''m not sure if i could send to an appraiser. i didn''t read anything in regards to that.
but i don''t know of any appraisers out where they are.

mommabear - is this an antique or new setting? if new, i think the quality could be better unless they purposely are making it look more aged. but w/ the size of the diamond and if it is a good one that is an amazing price. you could get another setting if you find out in person that the setting is not so great. good luck!

Hard to tell by photos but the stone looks lovely. If it''s in NYC, you can see if they''ll send it to an appraiser of your choice (David Wolf is there, yes?), or to Dave Atlas? They should be willing to send it to you or an appraiser of your choice with a return if you dont like it in person.

well, i talked to one of the reps and he says it''s a reproduction (which i don''t mind)
i do agree that the setting is... so-so
i read on various sites that Fay Cullen has her settings made in Thailand?

i think; ultimately, i''m only looking at the diamonds worth

I have eyed that ring for quite some time. Is the center stone certed? I would want to know more about the cut before I bought. I think the symmetry looks a bit off, but the color and proportions look good (at least to my untrained eye). Can they get you any more specific info about the stone, like angles and such?

If you''re only looking at the ring then why not buy just the center stone if they''ll allow it. No sense in buying a setting you dont love...
