New TRR purchase that I’m on the fence about. The listing says they are 1.32 ctw, slightly included, which is probably about right. They look good to the naked eye, sparkly and white. I wear .9 ctw OEC studs every day so these are bigger. I feel like they’re a bit too much for me but maybe I could get used to them. They have jumbo backs which helps them stay upright.

I’ve been looking for old cut studs in a WG or platinum milgrain bezel but they’re hard to find within my budget. These were $2500 so closer to the top of what I wanted to spend, in YG, and a trio (3 is my lucky number!) so they’re not exactly what I set out to find but I was interested enough to order to see IRL. I snagged them during the spend more promo so if I keep them I’ll get a $500 future credit which seemed like the best deal I was going to get. I did consider going custom with lab OECs but am not feeling excited about that for some reason. I think it’s the lack of thrill of the hunt.

What do you think? Should I keep? Return & keep looking?

Can you post a picture wearing them? I'm an earrings addict and I hear you, i have transitional cuts in 18k white gold milgrain, platinum is hard to find. With earrings, it's all about how the look on your ears. Screenshot_20250427_082553_Photos.jpg

Love those! RR!

And yes I agree - ear shots needed!

@RRfromR beautiful pair! I love the square bezel.

I never realized how hard it would be to take pictures of my own ear.

It's quite of a task, isn't it lol. I love them, I don't think they are too dramatic, you can dress them up or down.

They have a really nice presence on the ear!! Go with your gut on this one though. Do you love them?

I think they look really nice and don't think they are too much for everyday. Agree, go with your gut, but seems like the price is good, especially with the $500 credit.

I love these -- they look great on you.

@Lookinagain thanks for the feedback on price specifically - sometimes it’s hard to know when there aren’t many comps to look at, and the pricing on antique is all over the place anyways.

Today I am thinking I’ll keep them but I’ve been waffling because I am not sure if I will wear them enough. I do think it likely that I would get used to the size after I wear them a few times and I like the idea of having something versatile that can be dressed up or down so great point @RRfromR. I also like that they are a little different than my normal studs. I was a bit worried if I just bought a pair in a higher ctw that I would never wear the smaller ones again. These are set in YG instead of WG and the trio setting sets them apart as well. The feedback is helping me so thanks all!

I love them. If you think they are too much as studs maybe make them into drops/dangles? They would be perfect like that too.

They are perfect size for your lobes. I used to be the same, got some that are 1.7 ct and now I think i can do bigger lol. You'd be amazed how easy it is to get used to bigger diamonds :) you can always resell them later, antique earrings are not that easy to find.

Love that idea - I was watching a pair on eBay for a while that were a drop clover motif. I like having options!

This is what I’m thinking is going to happen. I wear studs every day so I think I’ll get used to them quickly. I was surprised to find these on TRR - I was looking at dealers/resellers, ebay, 1stdibs, etc., and turning up very little. I stumbled over these while looking through their studs to see if there were any deals to be had and then I waited a few weeks until the promo to see if they’d get marked down any more. I never see the good stuff on TRR for some reason.

Also keep in mind that finding 6 old diamonds matching in size isn't that easy unless you buy a suite already put together. It would take quite a bit of time to do it on your own. Add the price of the setting to that cost, and I think what you got was at a good price, especially with the credit.

Great point! Thank you, you all have helped me feel good about choosing to keep them!

Yeah the rarity and value is totally there with these, plus versatility of how to wear them. I agree they will hold value over time too.

I love the personality of these! And they look perfect on your ears.

Thanks all - I did take the tag off for wear today and I’m loving them.
