Yeah? where in central Texas? I lived in Northwest Austin for 17 long grueling hot years. I was just there in March.. my republican friends there (the upper class ones).. they voted for Trumpski as they held their nose(s)... they 'overlooked' the fact that they believe in staying married and being respectful of women (and men).. much of them love their 'guns'!!! and while they couldn't stand Trump personally they love their guns (again) and voted for him, I cannot say that ANY Autinite I know that voted for Trumpski wanted the wall, as they all use illegals for lawn service, pool service, house cleaning service", now I have learned since moving back to the northeast the white guys can do lawns! yes indeedy, after living in Atown so long I just assumed foreigners did everyone's lawn and cleaned for them, well I was wrong.. BUT up here in Maine lawn services cost 2x as much as in Atown... also up here to it cost almost 2x as much to get my hair done... I have not completely understood why.. except that I know that illegals in austin live many to a rented house (yes I saw this, every day on my way home from my jobs in the north central part of Atown).... so in this way I agree that illegals do take jobs away from native born Americans.. but it does show that supply and demand works.. so what did(do) we want in Atown? I guess it was cheap grass cutters, hair cutters, and cleaning ladies. (I'll probably move back at some point in time)

Now my 'less' educated Texan people that i know well, well they just think anyone from the north is out to get their guns, push 'socialism' on them and make them pay more taxes... you know, in Austin I had two women tell me they consider themselves TEXANS first! I about fell over in anger, I said to one idiot, well I wish my dad hadn't have fought in WWII for you! I'm an American first.

My NE friends who voted for Trumpski, held their noses and stayed republican.

Hi,

The most important thing about the Iran agreement was to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons. There are 4 or 5 other countries that were involved in the negotiations, not just the US. Pres. Obama explained, after the fact, the the 400 million in cash was shipped that way was due to banking issues. The explanation was public in a speech given by him. The money belonged to Iran, but had been frozen for many years. As part of the negotiation Iran wanted the money back. As to the release of the captives at the same time, I don't know.

Pres Carter did have a mission to free the hostages that was unsuccessful. Iran wanted to release them to the new Pres -Reagen.

Kate, I remembered that you were in Austin at some point but you hated it. Why would you go back? It's still hot, and we all still have guns. But come on down. :DAustin is quite popular especially with young Texans. As a side note, Texans consider Austin pretty liberal, as I'm sure you know.
Most of our friends have cleaning ladies and lawn service, but we clean, and husband keeps a very nice lawn. We both hate the gym so only spend a couple of hours a week there. Chores are weight control program for us. :D Plus our Puritan upbringing, not paying someone for what you can do yourself. Although, we are hardly consistent on that.
We are just sw of Waco now, but I am a Fort Worth girl.
Have you ever gone to Abercrombie's, antique jewelry store in Austin?
