NYC Diamond District for earrings?

I will be in NYC for the holidays and would like to go to the diamond district to get my husbands "gift" for me I don't want anything fancy just a nice everyday pair of diamond earrings for under $1000. Does anybody have a recommendation in the DD?

...also my friend has a booth ground floor....a Harvey Nagin 66 West 47th... South side of 47th closer to 6th avenue. Just walk in and ask first booth where harvey nagin is. He owns the building .Nagin Jewelry tell him Heidi sent you. Remember district is mostly closed onthe weekend and the shut down early on Friday
