Nude swimming in public pools

In the early 60s my family, all six of us, went to the YMCA.
One day of the week was reserved for nude swimming ... males only ... all ages together.
The pool was very busy.

That's when & where my dad (a certified Red Cross swim instructor) taught me how to swim.
I don't know whether "The Y" also reserved a day for females.

I doubt much public nude swimming happens now if any, especially since the Village People song. LOL

I learned to swim at the YWCA in - let’s just say it was a predominantly LDS town. Once a week volunteer parents would drive kids from my school class to the Y for swim lessons. (I think it might have been just first or second grade.) No “ladies only nude swimming” nights that I’m aware of - LOL! But the instructors did put on a synchronized swim show once a year as a fund raiser. Swim suits and matching swim caps were de rigueur.

Learning to swim is a vital life skill. I think the government should fund swimming lessons or offer tax deductions, to somehow incentivize getting children comfortable and safe in water.

An acquaintance of my husband had nude swim class (all boys) in high school, in the late 60's-70's. The same was not true for the girls.

Not in public pools - I don’t think everyone should have to witness this just because it is your preference. Public means people of all ages and beliefs and consideration is vital to everyone enjoying the pool.

its really sad here that over the years especially in rural ares school pools have been closed due to maintance costs as the pools get older
they were/ are such a good community resource over summer if anyone ever knew someone on the PTA who had a key
when you look at the stats for drowning -im sure this is true in a lot of countries, teaching kids water safety and how to swim would save lives

i just checked and the pool my primary school used (which was at my cousin's primary school) is still in use and it looks a lot nicer (and warmer) than i remember

when we went to intermediate and then high school we used the main public pool in town
