I truly hope this isn't true, but I know it is. Because of course it is. because our POTUS is a tin-foil hat wearing conspiracy theorizing lunatic.

I actually am wondering:

Maybe he isn't this stupid...
Maybe he is creating all of this sensational BS on purpose. If he and the rest of his administration are not the least bit trustworthy in anything they say, then they don't have to act with integrity with anything they do.

If they are constantly causing controversy, the public will be very, very distracted. Maybe too distracted to notice the very real, very bad things he is actually doing...

For example, the immigrant ban happened and the media exploded into a frenzy and that is right when he dismissed the joint chiefs of staff and slipped Bannon in. That would have been a huge deal during any other time.


I think Trump and the people working for him have a calculated plan. Maybe part of it is to behave like this?

If you watch his old interviews from the eighties, he doesn't sound NEARLY as obtuse or buffoonish as he does now. I don't think it can be blamed on age. I think he's intentionally dumbed himself down.

Bingo. Every time he tweets or Kellyanne ConArtist goes on TV sounding like Ann Coulter on crack I just think "What are they trying to distract us from?"

I do enjoy that media outlets have started adding that after many of the headlines regarding his comments.

Apparently CNN declined to interview Kellyann Conway for a live format show because of her - uhm - credibility issues.

I think there's something to be gained by getting an unvarnished look at what the administration is trying to pass as fact - namely, a chance to figure out the depth of the lies they're willing to perpetrate on us as well as a chance to try to figure out their motivation and end game.

But given that some people are apparently willing to believe anything this administration says, or at least to not bother to check it or read any criticism of those statements... then it makes sense to use her comments only in a format that allows for fact-checking prior to publication.

It's a sorry state of affairs, but I think CNN is doing the right thing here.
